Many companies and organizations offer matching gift programs, which can double or even triple the impact of your contribution.

If your employer participates in one of these programs, your donation to MAIA could go even further, helping more girls and young women access the education, mentorship, and opportunities they deserve.

Check with your employer’s Human Resources or Corporate Social Responsibility team to find out if your organization offers donation matching and how to submit a matching gift request.

You can make your donation through our donation form and maximize the impact of your generosity.

We invite you to continue your legacy of impact by including MAIA in your estate plans.

There are many Planned Giving options available. All will result in financial benefits for you and your estate while also helping create a more just and equitable world for everyone. The most simple and popular ways to give are through a will or living trust or by naming MAIA as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy, retirement plan, or commercial annuity.  This simple way of giving ensures your impact extends beyond your lifetime, and in the meantime, you retain the control and use of your assets.

  • Wills and living trusts: to leave a gift in your will or living trust for MAIA, all you need to do is include language that specifies a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the residual of the estate after you have made bequests to your family. Here is sample verbiage you can discuss with your attorney: “After fulfilling all other provisions, I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to MAIA (tax ID #68-0652444 ), a charitable organization duly existing under the laws of Colorado and located at 1031 33rd Street, Suite 176, Denver, CO 80205, _______percent of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate [or $________ if specific amount] to be used in the areas of greatest need as the board of directors may determine.”
  • Beneficiary designations: a gift of your life insurance, retirement plan, or commercial annuity can be made by designating MAIA as a beneficiary. To do this, request a change-of-beneficiary form from your retirement plan administrator, insurance company, or financial institution. On the beneficiary form, name MAIA, along with the percentage you would like MAIA to receive. There are other ways to give—charitable giving annuities, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, among others.

Choosing the right planned gift depends on your personal circumstances and financial goals, and we encourage you to consult with your personal financial advisor to determine the option that is most suitable for you and your family.

Please let us know if you have decided to include MAIA in your estate plans, we would like to thank you and celebrate your generosity.

If you are age 70½ or older and have an IRA, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization such as MAIA (EIN: 68-0652444).

This contribution can count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year in which it is made.

There may be significant tax benefits under current tax law. Typically, most or all of the required minimum distributions you receive from your IRA are included in your taxable income. However, if you make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA, the amount donated will count toward your required minimum distribution and generally will not be included in your adjusted gross income.

This option is available only for distributions made directly from an IRA to the qualified charitable organization of your choice. Please consult your tax advisor to determine whether a Qualified Charitable Distribution is the right option for your situation.

To make a Qualified Charitable Distribution, ask your IRA custodian or administrator to transfer funds directly to MAIA. You may transfer up to the annual IRS limit.
